The Swedish Game Industry Association at GDC 2025

Next week it's time for the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) – one of the most significant business events for the international game industry. 

We’ll be there, supporting the Swedish game industry in every way possible. Here’s a glimpse of what we have planned for the week.

🔓 GDC Unlocked. This initiative gives women, non-binary, and trans individuals an All-Access pass to GDC and an exclusive networking opportunity with special guests Kate Edwards and Jenny Brusk. 

👾 Arcade Kickoff. We start the week by gathering everyone from the Swedish games industry who is in town to make useful connections at the start of GDC. The event takes place at San Francisco’s best queer arcade bar, located in the famous Castro, one of the first HBQTI-friendly neighborhoods in the US.   

🤓 Also on Monday we have Economic Policy and Ecosystem Workshop. Dataspelsbranschen's GIS meeting (Game Industry Support) has moved to the official GDC program this year. This workshop is intended for government representatives, economic development agencies, and industry associations focused on supporting and growing their regional game industry. Other industry leaders, such as advisors, board members, and volunteers, who are involved in such efforts are welcome as well.

☕️ Nordic Breakfast. Tuesday morning you will first find us at the annual Nordic Breakfast taking part in round table discussions and checking out three upcoming game studios from the Nordics. 

🇸🇪🇺🇦 Later in the afternoon we are co-hosting an event with the Consulate General of Sweden and the Psychological Defence Agency (Myndigheten för psykologiskt försvar). The event includes a fireside chat with industry veteran Pim Holfve (Raw Fury) and an exclusive presentation by Ukrainian game developer GSC Gameworld, renowned for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

🍹 Last but certainly not least on our agenda is the Nordic Party, happening Thursday evening. The event is a hotspot for GDC delegates to network and make new connections, generously supported by Hazelight, Lurkit, Sharkmob, Snowprint, Raw Power Games, and GameDev Estonia /Invest Estonia.
