Swedish Games Industry Joins the Playing for the Planet Alliance
We’re proud to announce that Dataspelsbranschen, the Swedish Games Industry Association, has joined the Playing for the Planet Alliance, further strengthening our commitment to sustainability within the game industry.
As part of this commitment, we’ve already established a dedicated sustainability function within our secretariat, led by Marléne Tamlin, Head of Sustainability. In addition to driving strategic efforts, Marléne also leads a national sustainability network focused on fostering dialogue and action among our member companies.
- For us, there is no other option, we have a responsibility to support our member companies in moving toward a more sustainable future. Partnering with Playing for the Planet is a strong step in that direction, and one that many of our members have already taken, says Marléne Tamlin.
Playing for the Planet is a UNEP facilitated initiative that brings together video game companies committed to taking action on environmental issues. Members pledge to measurable sustainability goals, from reducing carbon emissions to integrating green themes directly into gameplay experiences.
Facilitated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and driven by industry leadership, this initiative demonstrates the powerful role our industry can play in addressing today’s most urgent environmental challenges.
