New executive director at recently started Games Denmark

Games Denmark, the new association for the Danish game industry, which was founded earlier this year, has appointed Niels A. Wetterberg as executive director effective September 1, 2024.

Søren Lundgaard (Chairman of the Board) says: "With Niels as director, we gain a leader with practical experience from the games industry who understands its specific needs. Niels has also been an important part of the working group behind Games Denmark, and we chose him because he is ambitious and passionate about all aspects of the industry's growth. With Niels at the helm, I am confident that the establishment and further development of Games Denmark will be solidly grounded."

About Niels A. Wetterberg

Niels A. Wetterberg steps into the role with a versatile and impressive background as the former director and founder of the game company Invisible Walls, which he established in 2017 and sold to Embracer in 2022. His commitment and innovative approach have been evident in several industry initiatives, including Copenhagen MatchUp, Copenhagen Gaming Week, TAGS, and Game Developer Talks.

Prior to this, he led the game and transmedia company Investigate North, where he explored the fascinating intersection between games and film. With an education from CBS and extensive experience across various creative industries, Niels brings a unique combination of business acumen, creativity, and industry knowledge to his new position.
